The Life You Have Been Waiting For
We have traveled a long way,
A great distance together, my friend.
Through deserts stark and scorching
Places dry as dust.
We journeyed on and on and on.
Many times I know you felt weary, even alone and lost,
Yet faith, hope and love were your compass guide.
And grace was a shelter for you.
Many sorrows sprang up along the way
On this journey called Life.
Stumbling, doubt and fears crept in,
Tears you cried seemed enough to fill a river!
Yet you grew! Learning that just as a child needs a father
You also benefit by leaning upon your heavenly Father,
Discovering my mercies for you are new each day.
Did you happen to notice the way ahead
Is painted with brilliant hues?
Vistas so grand and stunning, high and deep
It takes your breath away, trying to take it all in!
This is a place to pause. Take in a deep breath!
Stop to laugh! Look around and stand in awe
At the sheer wonder and grandeur of this New Creation Life!
The desert way is behind you. I have dammed up your tears.
Times of weeping are transformed in this place
Into overflowing and rich harvests of joy!
Tears no longer reflect sorrow here but sow seeds into
An endless green landscape called Life Everlasting.
There are endless adventures in store! Let’s journey on!
It is time to enter into the Life You Have Been Waiting For.
