A published Christian writer that loves Jesus, her family and the farm. I love writing short devotionals to honor the Lord based on the lessons and experiences I have as a shepherd.

 Writing Pieces

“But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.” James 1:14 I am a shepherd, a blessing that God has given me that is beyond a simple explanation, because this job allows personal insight into my own humanity and sin. I guess you could say it is a way of learning by example. It may even be a little more foretelling because my flock is goats, not sheep, which means they often do not listen so very well.

Knocking heads doesn’t prove any thing; it just leaves you with a headache. It does demonstrate that goats and people can both be bullheaded and stubborn. But, I do not believe that is how God intended us to be. “And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God.” Psalm 78:8

“I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek thy servant; for I do not forget thy commandments.” Psalm 119:176 “I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek thy servant; for I do not forget thy commandments.” Psalm 119:176

Become Christ like and go forth and preach the gospel unto all the world. “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Mark 16:15 That is pretty straightforward, easy to understand or is it? How often does the simplicity of this escape us?

"I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready." 1 Co. 3:2 I am a shepherd, the keeper of a goat herd that is about 40 head in number. Not necessarily a large amount, but a great responsibility none the less.

I am a shepherd, in this case a keeper of the goats. Boaz and Blessing are twins a little buck and doe that are about 3 weeks old. They are special because they come from anywhere in the field when I call.

“For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:30 I am a shepherd, the keeper, the one that cares for a herd of sheep, in my case its goats approximately 40 head. I love it, its hard work sometimes, but worth it. It is also a gift of insight from God to me. .

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 1 Peter 5:8 I am a shepherd, in this case a keeper of the goats. In many ways, they are my teacher, the example of myself. I can see myself and people in general through their behavior and actions. I gain a better understanding of my Lord and the relationship we have because of the opportunity in being a shepherd.
